The main goal of your membership site is to make money; but oftentimes, people are hesitant to join as paid members. So the best recommendation is to set up a semi-free membership site, where there are different levels of membership.

Most marketers use the Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum Levels, where each higher level provides members with more/better products or privileges.  For example, people can join the Bronze Level for free. They could also join (or upgrade) to the higher levels such as the Gold Level, where they can get all the products from the Bronze and Silver Level, plus enjoy more benefits as a Gold member.

Most people will join the free level to get a feel for the site. Although you won’t earn money at this point, you have the opportunity to build a subscriber base and follow-up with them as many times as you like.
